I went to the grocery store tonight (Fred Meyer) and dropped Heidi off in the play area while I shopped with Hannah. When I went back to pick Heidi up, I saw her in the play area and called "Heeeiidiiii" to get her attention. I was TOTALLY SHOCKED when out of Hannah's mouth came "Ha (short "o" sound) + deee." She said it with the same tone as me and sounded almost just like she was copying me! I couldn't believe that she said Heidi's name... and she said it So Well. It was a total shock. The lady in the play area seemed pretty surprised, too. She turned her head as it caught her attention.
Later tonight after I put Heidi to bed, I was holding Hannah on the couch and (as I often do) I said "Hannah's my baby girl" and it really sounded like Hannah said "Bay-gir." I think she was trying to say "baby girl."
I guess now she is going to try to start saying more than just "mama," "dada," "mi mi" (for "milk milk"), "bup bup" (for "up up"), and "da ar" (for "there you are," which we say when we play peek-a-boo).
